I’ll be photographing your newborn, but not handling your newborn. In other words, I won't be wrapping baby like a burrito or positioning their hands & feet into those typical newborn poses often seen. Instead, I'm there to document a few + hours with my lens. The purpose of my New Life sessions are to capture baby while still in their newborn stage, as it doesn't last long. I'm simply photographing you with your newborn in the safety and comfort of your own home. Parents will oversee positioning & posing of their newborn and I'll be there to assist you in everyway. Seen something fun on Pinterest you'd like to try? If so, let's give it a shot (no pun intended). I'll also capture shots while you care for baby - feeding them, changing them, burping or consoling them - whatever speaks to you, your baby and family's life, that's what I'll be there to capture. Some great options within your home could be the nursery, a rocking chair, a bedroom, the family sofa, sitting on the back porch, standing in front of your favorite window... the options are endless. Other enduring moments to consider would be adding grandparents to the session (see Services for more info). I need only a small amount of gear - a backpack with my camera, lenses & flash and a small reflector that folds into a pouch. That's it! No tripods, light stands, or other non-sensical gear to take up space in your home. And I'll be able to work with whatever light is natural in your environment. If I need more, that's where my flash and reflector come in. But don't worry, there's no flash directed at baby's face. Have more questions? Let's chat.
